HANDLING AUSTIN ALLERGIES
If you live in Austin, you have experienced or heard about the severe allergies. This past two months I have lost count of how many patients are showing up to my office complaining of allergies and seeking help. Many of you refer to Austin as the allergy capital. If you ever had allergies, you recognize the symptoms. Cedar, ragweed pollen, molds, dust mites, and other irritants can cause swollen eyes, sneezing, sinus congestion, induce asthma, a drippy nose, headaches, and shortness of breath.
Thousands of Austinities of all ages are diagnosed with allergies every year, and those allergies interfere with every imaginable activity.
No wonder there are so many over-the-counter and prescription medications for allergic reactions. But medications don't always work, their effects are temporary, and they often cause drowsiness or other symptoms. The traditional medical view is that the allergy is a result of the patient being sick or their body malfunctioning. Chiropractic, on the other hand, views allergies as a result of the patient's chemical/allergen exposure and dietary habits. In this way, it is the patient's environment that is sick, not the patient.
Now a growing number of allergy sufferers are finding relief not in the medicine cabinet but in simple techniques that involves influencing the bodys own adaptive healing capabilities to the environment and its stimulants.
Here are some of the top strategies that I give my patients:
I hope that you implement these strategies as it has helped hundreds in my own practice but also thousands elsewhere. I wish you good health during this allergy season.
